100 Women in Hedge Funds was founded in 2001, Women in Hedge Funds is a global association of more 13000 professional women. Through the volunteer efforts led by our members, we make a difference in our industry and community with unique educational programming, professional leverage initiatives and philanthropy.
The success of our fundraising has come from the dedication and hard work of our members and the support of the hedge fund community.
With the rise of women in every field, 100 Women in Hedge Funds make its important place in the society. 100 Women in Hedge Funds is a global association that works in the world for the betterment of women in providing them equal rights in the hedge funds and investment industries.
It is actually a non- profit and non- revenue organization with more than 13,000 of professionals working in the hedge funds or broader alternatives industry. This organization, 100 Women in Hedge Funds was basically founded in the month of December, 2001. The present founder of the organization, Carol Kim, Dana Hall and Sarah Dyer decided to bring them together almost 100 seasoned female industry leaders to teach the women to better communicate and to manage and to control their relationships and the alternative investment industry.
With the establishment of this organization, 100 Women in Hedge Funds, numerous women get inspired through this organization and become the member of this organization.
Three Pillars of 100 Women in Hedge Funds:
The organization of 100 Women in Hedge Funds was started with the areas of the effort and later these three areas became the three pillars of 100 Women in Hedge Funds. These areas or the pillars are:
- Education:100 Women in Hedge Funds educate the women about their role in the society and allows them to deal with the investors in different way. The 100 Women in Hedge Funds have educators, mentors, leaders, innovators, motivators and pioneers in 20 different locations within 3 continents to educate women on different perspectives of the world.
- Leverage: the organization of 100 Women in Hedge Funds have created numerous ways for the women to share and leverage their experience with their industry aristocrats. initiative is a direct result of discussions with our members and also a reflection of our Industry’s growing efforts to include more women on Corporate/For Profit and Non profit Boards, consistent with their Board-relevant expertise and professional experience.
- Philanthropy: through the effective series of philanthropic initiatives, 100 women in hedge funds enable its members to make a difference. And Greatly impacted the lives of approximately 371,000 people through fundraising.
100 Women in Hedge Funds has created a number of ways in which members can effectively share and “leverage” experiences, wisdom, and insight with their industry peers. Thus hedge fund is an investment fund that pools capital from a limited number of sophisticated individual or institutional investors and invests in a variety of assets, often with complex portfolio construction and risk management techniques.
